Syracuse is coming off a 33-25 win at Cal, where the team put together one of its most complete performances of the season, while the Huskies come in well-rested off a bye. UConn enters the game on a three-game win streak and has its most wins in a season since 2010.
Saturday is Senior Day for the Orange and marks one of the last times fan favorites such as Kyle McCord, Marlowe Wax and Justin Barron will suit up in front of the fans at home. McCord has a chance to make the day even more memorable for Orange fans if he can throw for 274 yards to pass Ryan Nassib for the most passing yards in a single season in school history. He also needs three touchdown passes to break Nassib’s single-season record.
The Orange defense will be tasked with trying to slow down a UConn rushing attack that’s ranked 21st in the FBS. The Huskies are averaging 200.3 yards a game led by Durell Robinson, Cam Edwards and Mel Brown. Syracuse ranks 84th in the FBS with 156.6 rushing yards allowed per game.
UConn’s offensive line is anchored by Wes Hoeh at center who transferred from Syracuse after Fran Brown took over the Orange.
